Before 1221 Massachusetts Avenue, there was a basement at 1914 N Street
N.W. near Dupont
Circle. For a brief period in 1964, the school was in temporary
quarters in the old Holton Arms gymn on S Street N.W. After the
Charles Sumner School building, there was a
building at 1919 Rhode Island Avenue N.W. Those are important
parts of our
history too; if you remember them or have photographs from those years,
please
contact us so we can add your recollections or pictures to the Hawthorne archives.
